As I began to read Prometheus Bound, it became obvious to me that the focus of the play should surround Prometheus and the mountain. The scene selection should be limited to just a few scenes. Prometheus being chained to the mountain in the Caucasus and Prometheus describing what happened in the war between Zeus and the Titans should be the only sceneries in the play.
Prometheus seems to be in the right and is being punished for the wrong reasons. With that understood the first scene should consist of the two gods dragging Prometheus towards the mountain and Hephaestus reluctantly following behind them. In the background should be music that would portray sympathy towards Prometheus and his suffering. The stage should be pitch black with one spotlight on the four characters, and as they approach the mountain then the spotlight should widen so that all you can see are the characters and the mountain.

The other scene should basically consist of a pitch black stage with a spotlight on Prometheus speaking with the titans and then him talking with Zeus. This scene should show how Zeus turns on Prometheus even though Prometheus helped Zeus win the war the titans. Again, the music selection is crucial to help the audience feel as if Zeus is the bad guy, which he is. This play seems pretty simple and basic with the lighting and music schemes.

I like your thinking on having a pitch black stage with just Prometheus having a spotlight on him. It seems like it would make the scene more dramatic and would defiantly peak my interest if I were sitting in the audience. I also like your idea of sympathetic music in the background. That would defiantly set the mood if you got the audience feeling sorry for him in the first place.

Your setting for Prometheus Bound is very similar to how I would stage it. Pitch Black minimal light, but just enough to see the key characters in the scene.
