The play Prometheus Bound is very interesting to read seeing that it is very lyrical in nature. I found Prince to be especially effective in helping to read it.
I would stage it very simply, using a background setup that allowed for the changing of colors using a projector, and in the middle of the stage the rock that Prometheus is bound to. At the beginning during the scene in which Power, Hephaestus, and Violence are in the act of chaining Prometheus, Prometheus would not be shown due to his not speaking during the scene. Instead the rock will be turned around in the second scene, in the first scene the color in the background will be a crimson red due to characters in the scene the god of the forge, and power and violence. The second sequence in which the chorus asks why he was chained, I would use white up until the point where Prometheus says “TORTURES ME and in no way eases these agonies” which would be a red flash then back to white, in fact every time there was rage emanating from Prometheus a red flash would appear in the background. When Ocean comes blue, first coral ode green, Episode 3 yellow, second choral ode blue green, Io black when she speaks, slowly fading to a sickly white as she continues to speak to Prometheus flashes of red every time she screams, keeping the same scheme in 3 choral ode, 4 choral ode emerald green, and in the Deus Ex Machina, pink ever time Hermes speaks to undermine his attempt at seriousness and to emphasize his childish nature and back to crimson red for Prometheus.
That’s what I would do at least.

I like the projector idea that allows the backround to change colors and set the scene better. I lke the specific color schemes for each sequence. One thing that I was wondering is why would prometheus not be shown in the sequence where he is being chained to the mountain?

I found it interesting that you thought Prince was a good reading aid. But why? I was just the opposite and went for very quiet piano music. I think that if you elaborate a bit on why the music helped you it would enhance your meditation. The sentence “Instead… violence.” Does not read very clearly, it seems like you might have jumped to another thought before finishing the first and without introducing the second. You might want to go back and re-read and correct that. I like how you connected the colors to the individual people; I especially liked the pink for Hermes! There are a few other little places where your thoughts seem to jump so I think that re-reading in general would help your meditation be much stronger. You have some very good ideas but just by expanding on them a little more this meditation could be very insightful. Also is there anything else about the set that you need to explain? The last thing that the reader sees about the set is that the rock it turned around. How would the rock rotate? And would it happen in a blackout or would it be on a revolve that would move in the light with Prometheus coming into view? Just some things to think about.
