Staging for Prometheus Bound

My particular ideas for staging this play relay more on lighting and sound effects as opposed to visuals such as props and other such things. However, the main visual would be Prometheus chained to the rock. In the background there could be large moutains, and the area around him could be barren and desolate. The whole time he is speaking, a lone spotlight chould be trained on him, or just about him, so as to cast a certain glow to his face. As his emotions change, so could the music and the background - something to imitate the sounds of thunder, and simulated lightining, perhaps?

As far as other characters go, they aren't given nearly as much attention as Prometheus is. The chorus and Io could be sillouhetted behind the main screen as they speak with him at first, so as not to take away from his scenes. As they got closer to Prometheus throughout the play, they could come out of shadow and share in Prometheus' light as they all converse. The play should end with a blackout, to leave the audience with one final picture of Prometheus' face.

*Spoiler United 93*
I really like the blackout idea at the end of the play to give the audience one final picture. The blackout idea reminds me of the movie United 93 in how it ends as the plane is going down, and just before it crashes it goes to a black screen. When I saw the blackout used in United 93 it really left me thinking about the people on the plane. I think the blackout would leave the audience with the same ideas towards Prometheus.
